day 23 away from home

We could only stop by for an hour after work and Kristina has been worked hard today with the Physical& Occupational Therapists. My parents were in this morning with her and they stop in when ever possible so she isn't alone too much. I wish we could spend more time with Kristina, but realize we need to catch up on missed work.
Walking Update: Now if you slightly support her or hold her hands she can walk on her own. This is another huge milestone for one extremely determined little girl. You can tell just by looking at her face that she is relieved to be able to walk and even trying to run a short distance. It's getting progressively harder to leave her when you hear her yelling "Mommy & Daddy . . . Mommy & Daddy. . .Mommy & Daddy" as you make your way down the seemingly longer hall. We will have a evaluation meeting Thursday morning with doctors and specialists to determine the best course of treatment for the future and hopefully we will get a better understanding of the time frame for her recovery. Her appetite has drastically increased, she probably eats twice as much as before the surgery. We try to take her to the Cafeteria as much as possible and encourage her to us her hands and silverware to gain back some of her hand & arm motor skills.
