Friday morning Kristina took a turn for the worse, the hole in her heart and the temporary bypass are closing fast and her blood oxygen are dipping into the 40's. The operation the cardiologists hoped to put off for a few months is here. . . heart surgery is scheduled for Tuesday. We were hoping that her oxygen would stay up because the heart lung machine works for babies over 6 lbs., Kristina weighs only 4 1/2 lbs. We asked about our options, there is none - the surgery must happen soon.
